Hannah’s and Alan’s birthdays (43 and 68 respectively!).
Despite the prospect of a somewhat hectic day, I decided that I needed to go for an early morning walk along the harbour – for old times’ sake (as it would be the last one taken while still living at number40). Sadly, all rather grey and cloudy, but good to do it anyway…
Ended up being quite an uncomfortable walk – both my back and my hip were ‘playing up’!
The rest of the morning was spent posting number40 reflections and general packing/clearing up… it all seems rather never-ending!
Popped down to Cork’s to buy George a home-warming welcome… and I wrote him a brief note to go with it (very strange not to have met the new occupier of our house – a new experience for us in our five house moves).
Walked to Temple Meads mid-afternoon and caught the train to Swindon – where we were met by Steve and driven back to their second home in the Cotswolds.
Gail+Ian were already there (they’d arrive dmid-afternoon).
Despite feeling very tired, enjoyed lovely catch-up supper and fine wine before bed.
