I DID go for my dawn walk this morning (the usual circuit)!
Very grey, but still… and hardly anyone about.
I put out more collect-for-free stuff (fingers crossed).
Back home for espresso+toast… and a quick sketch of a typical ‘lockdown drinking tent’ (from a photo taken this morning at The Coronation).
Morning coffee with Moira inside.
Then had a strange zoom call with one of the prospective Removal firms… due to Covid, they’re still not carrying out actual property inspections for quotation purposes, so it meant me walking round the house pointing my laptop at everything (not entirely convincingly!). Anyway, the removal guy seemed to get what he needed… and actually came back to us with a quote before lunchtime… which we accepted… and then (irritating) I received a phonically from the bloke’s colleague saying that their Bristol weren’t able to do our move (fully booked – DESPITE me being reassured about 24 August!), but was confident that someone else within their group would be able to do the work (moaned and insisted that he rang us back as soon as he was able to PROPERLY confirm!!).
Moira did very well on the furniture front (thanks to GumTree) – people have collected the dining chairs AND our bed-settee! Fingers crossed that Gemma comes to collect the throne chairs tomorrow!
Another boat sketch after lunch (based on another pic from this morning – unremarkable stuff, I’m afraid – but my ‘library’ of sketches was getting rather sparse!).
Read some more of my ‘Love’ book.
Evening telly: some Olympics, plus ‘Connect’ and ‘Challenge’.
