Very grey morning and Moira and I decided to try a pre-streamed church morning walk (despite Moira’s painful sciatica). In the end, we only managed perhaps 0.75mile – to Dame Emily Park and round the block, but at least we ‘got out’.
I’d fetched the newspaper earlier to ensure we didn’t over-reach ourselves distance-wise.
Tuned into streamed church (at HTH)… good prayers from Rachel, but overall pretty bland (Frances preaching)… Kate has a lovely singing voice, but I really question needing songs in these kind of services?
Read newspaper over morning coffee afterwards.
Johnson appeared on Andrew Marr tv programme and indicated there was likely to be a review of tier measures "in the next few weeks" (after the UK saw record-high new case numbers amid a fast-spreading new virus variant)… so, like every other pandemic-related decision taken by the government, Johnson will end up acting when it’s far too late!?
Scribbled some draft ‘Taking Stock Reflections’… but didn’t finish them (maybe I’ll add/amend at a later date?).
Read more of my pilgrimage book in the afternoon.
Evening telly: usual Sunday night ‘Countryfile’ and ‘Antiques Roadshow’, plus a new Attenborough documentary.
