28 years since Dad died; 9 years since I finally retired!
Reverted to my ‘normal’ dawn routine walk… but it was a
disappointing start to the day weather-wise, with blanket greyness everywhere.
It was only at the very end of my walk that there were any signs that things
might brighten up later (and it did!).
Moira and I had coffee inside (Moira up a little earlier than
usual, so the morning seemed to extend). Posted my book blog - 45 books read so
far this year(!).
Cooked some macaroni cheese for the Low/Broadways (although
it was made with other pasta – macaroni is hard to come by these days!)… and
then endeavoured to wash the kitchen floor – not easy when the kitchen mop is
broken! Anyway, it now looks much better than it did – and it’s certainly
cleaner!
Ruth popped after her morning’s work at the Southville Centre…
and stayed for a cup of tea in the garden (which was lovely).
Found myself watching (again) an old ‘Imagine’ about the
London Olympics, called ‘One Night in 2012’ – about the making of the Opening
Ceremony. So lovely that it made me cry!
We watched another ‘Young Montalbano’ episode in the evening.
