Saturday 17 April:

Busy ‘working outside’ day…
Fetched the newspaper first thing and briefly flicked through the bulk of it before going outside with the intention of wire-brushing the back external steps and then slapping on a coat of white masonry paint… but, after rubbing down, I decided that it was best just to leave the steps ‘raw’ (there seemed little point in adding paint that would only flake off within the next year). The end result looked fine.
Took a mid-morning break for coffee with Moira.
The second job involved thoroughly de-weeding the front steps and the back patio. It took quite a long time to complete but, again, felt like a very worthwhile job completed (it seemed an awful long time since they were last done).
Rather flaked out in the latter part of the afternoon and watched part 3 of the Watergate documentary (resisted the temptation to watch the DoE funeral).
Enjoyed drinks in the garden before supper!
Evening telly: nothing on (again)… so re-watched an old Andrew Graham Dixon ‘The Art of France’ documentary.
Early to bed to try to ‘get into’ my bookgroup’s ‘Honour’ fantasy novel (last night I struggled!).
Image: the back yard (freshly weeded!).
