I’ve decided to give Bloke’s Prayer a miss for the next 3 or 4 weeks… so my Wednesday morning routine was different today.
Received a supportive email from Jeff last night (about my decision to ‘back off’ for the next few weeks)… which was nice.
Moira and I enjoyed morning coffee (just before her ‘Slimming World’ session.
I was meeting up with Charlotte and Alice later (they were accompanying their mother to a chemo clinic on St Michael’s Hill… so popped down to Hugo’s to get some Italian(?) pastries.
Very good to see C+A again (we decided it must be nearly a year since we last met) and we had a lovely chat. Life continues to be very hard for them all… father has Parkinson’s; mother has bowel(?) cancer; Alice has IBS; and Charlotte has severe depression – and all to be dealt with in a pandemic! Despite all the problems, we managed to laugh a lot. I don’t think C+A want to continue to take any active role in the Drawing Group (‘we’ve done our time’… ‘these things have their time’ etc)… and I think they’re probably right.
Back home by 2.30pm (feeling pretty tired!)(I’d walked close on 8 miles) and ended up watching first episode of ‘All that Glitters’ (like a jewellery version of ’Throw Down’?) on telly in the afternoon.
Evening telly: ‘Repair Shop’ (I couldn’t be bothered to watch ‘Sewing Bee’ at 9pm – I’ll watch on catch-up in due course.
