Saturday 6 June:

No walking today… bright start to the day but became increasingly cloudy (and colder) by mid-morning.
Morning coffee indoors. Spent some time trying to get my head around Megan+Adam’s ‘project’ (quite tricky, but I feel the need to commit a few things on to paper!).
Urban Sketching ‘virtual’ meet-up at 12 noon at Liverpool. Another very successful session – with 18 of us connected via zoom and at least a couple of others sketching remotely too.
With urban sketching happening in the middle of the day, the ‘timings’ for the rest of the day felt a little strange… spent some of the afternoon reading my ‘Lowborn’ book.
Early evening: watched ‘Capote’ on DVD (Phillip Seymour Hoffman pretty amazing in Capote role).
Thousands of people in the UK took part in large nationwide anti-racism protests (following the death of George Floyd in the US)… great that so many people felt motivated but also frightening, given the ‘distancing’ rules – which, from footage of the scenes, people were largely ignoring.
Image: Experimental, very rapid image drawn in wax with batik tjanting tool on to watercolour paper and watercolours added (it’s probably more than 10 years since I last tried this!).
