Friday 21 August:

Decided not to go for my dawn walk… decided instead that I should prepare for the delivery of our new washing machine later! Wasn’t quite sure whether the installation people would prefer using the outside steps or the basement stairs… so a) weeded the steps to provide a ‘clear track’ and b) cleared boxes and bits+pieces from the of basement stair half landing. The installers opted for the external route… and, having been without a washing machine for more than a week, two loads were completed without any issues!
We also had an Asda delivery, which was also very welcome (especially as we’d more or less run out of food!).
After lunch, I went over to Ru+Stu’s on cat-sitting duties… and he seemed very pleased to see me. Listened to Test match cricket (first day of third and final Test) on my laptop – England batting first and Crawley scored a fine maiden century (171* at the end
Watched another episode of ‘Portrait Artist 2018’ and also the last half hour of the cricket highlights.
