Sunday 23 August:

Wrote a brief book review of the ‘All The Light We Cannot See’ book.
Just a little concerned about an area on my right foot (ankle instep) and so have decided to try to protect it as far as possible with a ‘sponge plaster’ covering (and I’ve ordered extra plasters online as a precaution). It’s very reminiscent of the similar, tender area on the outside of my right foot a couple of years ago… and I’m desperate to avoid the skin being ‘broken’ – because I know that, if it was, it would take an absolute age to ‘mend’. Fingers crossed.
Moira and I went for a walk around the harbour before tuning in to ‘streamed church’ (for the first time in perhaps 4 weeks?). The service was being led by Frances (whose manner and prevarications rather irritate both of us at the best of times) and the ‘address’ given by Alex… and, I’m afraid, we only lasted 10 minutes before we both decided, somewhat guiltily, that it made sense for us to ‘drop out’.
I wrote an email to Lee (as requested by him) with my thoughts on church re-ordering.
Did my final ‘ink-sitting’ session at R+S’s… he’s a happy cat.
Watched first episode of the new series of ‘Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing’… which I loved.
Started reading Tom Sharpe’s ‘Ancestral Vices’ in bed.
