Despite it being a Bank Holiday, I went for my normal dawn
walk – on a beautiful, clear, still morning. It felt surprisingly Autumn.
Messaged both Ian (regarding the care of his mother) and Pete
(regarding his health – he needs open heart surgery early next year).
Moira and I had coffee indoors before I prepared stuff for
Iris+Rosa’s painting project… They’d ‘agreed’ to paint the railings at the
front of the house! Quite a lengthy and awkward process and, as you might
imagine, they were very good, determined artisans!
They stayed for lunch and early supper and, in between, also
enjoyed watching one of the ‘Portrait Artist’ episodes. Both girls are
incredibly creative: Iris had made two amazing doll characters (one based on
herself) and Rosa had made a wonderful cage and some funny, furry creatures. As
ever, they were very funny and it was great to be in their company.
In the evening we had another zoom session with Ken+Debby,
Steve+Diane and Ian+Gail… very good to see that Ken was in good spirits and
that he seemed to be making a steady recovery after his various operations.
Good for us all to ‘get together’ again.
