Tuesday 1 September:

A slightly strange day. Because I had a couple of ‘morning tasks’ lined up, I decided not to go on a dawn walk. So, after a fairly lazy start (and morning coffee with Moira, indoors), I set about re-decorating the low wall beside our front door… a simple task, but one that I managed to ‘botch up’ in some ways (despite masking tape etc, difficult to avoid getting paint on adjoining walls, railings and slabs!). Hey ho!
Went sketching to Bathurst Basin (yet more boats) before lunch (I think this was only my third on-site sketching since lockdown). Sketched in the shade for an hour and produced an unremarkable drawing.
Started feeling somewhat feverish during the course of the afternoon and ended up sitting in front of the TV watching rubbish telly!
Moira and I watched another ‘Portrait Artist’ episode after supper but, as I still felt ‘unwell’, I decided to have an early night.
