Friday 13 November:

Friday 13th!? Unlucky for some… (but, happily, not for me)(and even John Lewis chose today to launch its Christmas advert!).
Raining first thing so I decided to skip a dawn walk and read in bed for a while.
Weather forecast indicated weather clearing by mid-morning, so I ended up taking another walk along the Avon (and briefly into Leigh Woods again). Very special at this time of year with all the Autumn colours.
Back well in time for lunch.
Read more of my Bryson book in the afternoon before watching ‘On The Town’ (1949) on iPlayer. Typical Hollywood glamour, colour and dance (and rubbish storyline).
Dominic Cummings has left number10!
Chatted to Dan by telephone. He seemed in pretty good form and much chattier than usual… sounds as if Mikey is fine (although only at school perhaps 3 days a week at present?), but that Jemima is struggling (mental health and sleeping issues… which is very sad).
Evening telly consisted of ‘Between The Covers’ and a documentary (from March 2020) on Dominic Cummings (scary).
Image: from my morning walk (Leigh Woods).
