Monday 9 November:

Harbour dawn walk as usual (grey morning)… and the usual collection of ambling runners and joggers, but ALSO this morning I was incredibly impressed by two young women who really were amazing SPRINTERS – sprinting from The Cottage to the Marina and back x 2 times (with very brief pauses). Made me feel very old and doddery!
The rest of the day was somewhat strange (but very enjoyable) in that I spent virtually all of it reading (and finishing) my ‘Fifty Fifty’ novel. A proper ‘page-turner’ and pretty impressive.
Spoke to both Iris and Rosa by phone… interestingly Iris had been keeping close tabs of the US presidential election over recent days (and had also started watching West Wing!) and Rosa was very happy that the second series of ‘Dark Materials’ had returned!
Evening telly: ‘His Dark Materials’; ‘Only Connect’ and ‘University Challenge’.
