I went for my dawn walk around the harbour in the rain… very deserted and quite bleak (and yet I quite enjoy walking in the rain if I’m appropriately dressed).
Home by 6.15am… poached eggs on toast plus espresso breakfast.
Morning coffee with Ru and Moira (Ru en route to the framers).
I sketched one of our cushion covers (felt a bit like a doodling exercise!) before lunch and then watched a shocking documentary “Subnormal: A British Scandal” after lunch.
Moira had a hospital appointment at Southmead Hospital (‘Motion Clinic’). She and I were both quite anxious about it all, but it turned out to be really quite reassuring (her chin wobbles are very unlikely to be the first signs of Parkinson’s, for example). Moira certainly felt very pleased by the thoroughness of her examination and the explanations/attitude of the doctor. So, very good news.
Earlier in the week, I’d considered the possibility of going to watch the cricket in Bristol, but the weather forecast proved absolutely accurate: Somerset managed just 45-1 yesterday and no play at all today.
Read more of my 'January Man' book... but have decided to pause (for a little while) at the end of June.
Evening telly: more ‘Canal Diaries’… and an early night.
