Saturday 8 May:

A significant day perhaps?
Fetched the newspaper and then went to Hugo’s for fruit+veg first thing.
Read the paper then went in town for another apartment viewing (I know!).
This was a third-floor property in Deanery Road in the city centre (right next to the library and cathedral) – Robin+Sue live in the same complex.
We decided to book to view the place on the basis of its accommodation, size and location… and I think, prior to the visit, that we both felt there was a chance it might suit us.
In the event, I think we were both quite impressed with what was on offer – and, compared to the place we viewed at Redcliffe Parade West, it was much bigger (main living/dining area had a kitchen recess; the bedrooms were slightly larger; and the hallway and wall space for books etc much better)… and, crucially, there was no chain either!
So, when we got home, we decided to put in an offer for £365K (the asking price had been £375K)… and, although the woman wanted to check with her partner, the estate agent was confident our offer would be accepted – which is very good news. But we’ll probably have to wait until Monday before things are confirmed.
Didn’t really know what to do with ourselves for the remainder of the afternoon! I read some of my Kate Atkinson detective book.
Bristol beat Bath away from home 20-40! Gloucs won their cricket match after 3 days.
Late afternoon/evening telly: impressive Ian Wright documentary and old ‘Fake+Fortune’.
Image: A rather poor pic of the living/dining area at Deanery Road (but it gives a flavour!).
