A significant day (but for the moment, we don't know if it's good or bad!)… our prospective buyer’s building surveyor came round to do his survey. He spent 2 hours thoroughly inspecting/testing/checking our house and, no doubt, he’ll end up producing a catalogue of defects. He reckons he’ll be able to send his survey to our buyer tomorrow. I’ve forewarned Laurence of this on the assumption/in the hope that he’ll be in close contact with our buyer and be able to ‘talk him through things’ etc. In the meantime, we’re just left holding our breath. We’ve not tried to hide any of the building issues and would be prepared to drop the asking price to some extent (my gut feeling is that we have a potential contingency of £45K? I can’t imagine Moira being prepared to accept any price reduction of over £10K!). Stressful times!
I managed to make a doctor’s appointment to review my various medications and also wrote a letter to Alan (I know!).
Iris+Rosa were coming round to early supper after school today (the first time in 14 months!) and they were being joined by Ursa (who was also staying for a sleepover – H+F were going to the Old Vic)… so, somewhat predictably, I cooked macaroni cheese! Lovely to see them… lots of chat and laughter. Good times.
Earlyish to bed and read more of my Atkinson book.
