I’m
afraid I didn’t go walking today – despite the continuing fine (if very
blustery) weather!
I read
more of my “Gift” book immediately after breakfast and then tried to get my
head around to starting gathering images etc for a Blurb book (with a working
title of “Love In The Time Of COVID-19” – the same name as my blog diary).
Somewhat predictably (because it’s happened everytime I’ve produced a Blurb in
the past, I have to remind myself of what needs to be done/how to do it and,
despite watching the various, short ‘how to’ videos, it all feels very
hit-and-miss at this stage – which is shorthand for ‘very frustrating’!
Mr
Johnson addressed the nation on TV last night about the government’s slightly
modified ‘rules’ in connection with the pandemic. Essentially, the message has
changed from “Stay Home; Protect the NHS; Save Lives” to “Stay Alert”… and, as
a result, he’s been hugely criticised in social media/twitter. The general consensus (at least in ‘our’ part of the
social media world) seems to be that the ‘new policy’ feels irresponsible and
ambiguous and, crucially, is unenforceable. I think people were hoping for a
clear strategy and, clearly, this hasn’t happened.
I ordered some new books (and one was delivered within a few
minutes!) – including one for each of my bookgroups.
We had another lovely delivery from Hugo – although hugely
frustrating that there wasn’t a single potato among the vegetables (there was
only ONE in the last delivery too!). But, hey ho, it’s good to have plenty of
fruit and cheese in stock again.
Watched Grayson Perry’s Art Club on Channel4 in the evening.
