Saturday 23 May:

A slightly strange day. I didn’t walk… I simply stayed in bed reading (African author) until around 9am.
A lot of controversy in the news when it was revealed that Dominic Cummings travelled up to Durham (in March?) during the lockdown restrictions. Of course, both and the government are justifying his reasons for doing so, but the rest of the country seems to be pretty incensed (“do as I say, not as I do”).
Urban sketching day – this time in Pewsey, Wiltshire (Karen’s village of her youth). Another successful, enjoyable day… I think there were 12 of us connected via zoom and a few others who joined at various times during the course of the day.
I did a very quick sketch of some sagging tulips before supper, before Moira and I watched Cinema Paradiso (one of Hannah’s DVDs) – which was very good.
Bed pretty early to continue reading.
