Bank Holiday Monday!
Dawn walk around the harbourside on another beautiful, still,
sunny morning. Saw just two fisherman (one sitting ‘in action’, the other in
tent but with lots of rods in the water), one jogger and one paddleboarding photographer
on my travels!
The rest of the day basically spent reading (‘Yes Minister’)
and Joe Heap’s sketches (based on awful photographs of an incredibly
ordinary-looking house!)… feels as if I’m wasting my time.
And talking of ‘Yes Minister’, Mr Cummings made a statement
(and answered questions) about his recent actions. I genuinely thought he was
going to apologise and resign… but, of course, why on earth would he do that!?
That was followed by Mr Johnson chairing the ‘daily briefing’… I gave up
watching (lots of tweets from Ministers saying the equivalent of “right, he’s
explained his actions and they seem perfectly justified to me… time to move
on”!). I don’t think the country will be prepared to move (and I bloomin’ hope
they don’t!).
Finally, FAR more pleasant matters… we had a BABEs zoom
catch-up (including Ken+Debby!). It felt as though it’s been absolutely ages
since we last got together, but it was lovely catching up with everyone.
