Tuesday 12 May:

A dawn walk day… just the normal circuit to the harbourside, but it was a really beautiful, sunny, calm morning and so nice to be walking in relative isolation. Walked down the middle of Leighton Road (with al its bunting)/Vauxhall Bridge/Banksey’s ‘Girl for Pierced Eardrum’ (I wanted to take more photographs)/harbour walk/Gaol Ferry Steps.
Toast+marmalade+coffee breakfast – with Moira’s delicious homemade lemon marmalade (to use up some of Hugo’s lemons!).
Finally finished “The Gift” – although I have to admit that I rather it towards the end (I just ended up feeling I wasn’t clever enough to understand it all!). Also, continued reading Charlie Connelly’s “Last Train to Hilversum” (about the ‘magic of radio’)… interesting, despite the fact that the author writes like a Radio 2 DJ (not that I know anything about Radio 2 DJs!) – trying too hard to be funny.
Continued to look at the Blurb book (but still LOTS of frustrations – I’m sure there’s an easier way!).
This week’s Drawing Group ‘theme’ was ‘Animals’ – not my kind of subject, but I did manage to do a quick sketch based on a google zebra image!
Moira and I watched Inspector Montalbano in the evening, then bed to read.
