Tuesday 5 May:

Although it wasn’t one of those amazing, calm days we’ve enjoyed recently, I woke to a pretty impressive pink/purple sky above the opposite rooftops opposite the bathroom window. Went to another dawn walk (quite brief, just down to Princes Wharf and back)… quite cloudy and blustery, but good to be outside… and some nice skies too (see image).
Spent some time writing out an email to Emily Gould regarding a forthcoming Resonate session on poetry, but had some internet problems (Virgin Media workers were undertaking maintenance work just opposite the house – which meant no connection for 3-4 hours), so wasn’t able to send it off until early evening (a little bit frustrating!).
Have been enjoying listening to my old Miles Davis ‘Kind of Blue’ CD.
Chatted to Alice and Jemima (and very briefly, Mikey) by phone during the course of the afternoon… and again they seemed to be in pretty good form (it sounds as if Mima is a bit of a Lego Queen!).
At the daily coronavirus briefing session, it was announced that the UK now has the highest number of reported deaths in Europe (25,427).
Resonate session in the evening (with the topic essentially relating to the ‘Church during lockdown’, or something along those lines). An interesting discussion, albeit that I found the process too clumsy – so just sat and listened (three speakers, everyone on ‘mute’ but adding thoughts on ‘chat’ so that facilitator can get them to talk on speaker… or something like that).
