Sunday 10 May:

No dawn walk today, but I did persuade Moira to have a fairly early (for her) breakfast so we could walk before ‘going to church’. Clearly, 9am on a Sunday morning was a popular time for joggers, cyclists and walkers alike so, despite the perfect weather, it was a bit too crowded for my liking. But it was very good to walk together.
I find ‘streamed church’ a mixed blessing. It’s good to feel connected with everyone – albeit only ‘virtually’ – but, obviously, only one-way so there’s no interaction or exchange of views. Having said that, I thought today’s ‘service’ worked well, from four different computer screens (Lee conducting things; Richard+Tracey singing: Laura giving the talk; and Julia doing prayers).
Seemed to spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to air my views to Lee on church re-ordering and single-parish benefice… I ended up sending something off, but it was all pretty ‘muddled musings’ (and felt a little frustrated by my inability to vocalise my thoughts). Hey ho.
Continued reading my “Gift” book – I feel it’s got an important message but, at present, I’m struggling.
Watched ‘Atonement’ on DVD – previously read the book, watched the DVD (both some time ago)… but it’s amazing how much you forget!
