Thursday 21 October:

A significant day… Alice+Dave were travelling down from Lancashire to erect our last bookshelf unit. They arrived just after 11am (the traffic was apparently pretty awful)… and Dave got down to work immediately. Incredibly impressed by how brilliantly he’d thought through the project and how he’d prepared all the fixings/connections in advance. Lots of clever fixings and carrying cases etc. It was hugely impressive… I felt like a non-league player by comparison. I spent a fair amount of time reading on the balcony in the sunshine. Dave had completed it all by 2.30pm(?)… and (after a quick soup lunch) then they were popping round to Han+Fee’s to check some possible work for them.
I spent the entire afternoon, loading books on to the shelves (we’ve now emptied ALL our cardboard boxes!!)… and it all seemed to have worked out pretty well.

Early to bed and read for a while.
